Denotation:
The picture is in colour.
There are three book in main focus,
open and on top of each other.
A few stacks of books on both sides,
and theres a books shelf at the back- out of focus.

Connotation:
learning
reading
studying
got bored and left the books there,
must have been really busy to try and read three books at once.
looks like they've still got loads more to read judging by how many stacks of books they have on the desk
The School Bus
Denotation:
Its the side of the bus from a lower angle
looks like they boosted the colour a bit.
shows the school name and the district number.
its not the whole bus just a part of it which shows the name of the school.
Connotation:
school bus,
students
school
learning
journey to School
Traffic
vehicle
you could've explained the images a bit more, but explaining the angles is good. I agree with most the Denotations but you could develop the connotations more as you need to cover all the possible meanings.
